With a voice described as pure and majestic, and a rhythmic style that has prompted requests for guitar tablature, singer/songwriter Mick Choder tells of the intricacies of romantic relationships, and the most baffling of all interactions here on earth -- those with our selves. Choder’s infectious, upbeat pop and compelling ballads combine elements of folk, rock, and funk, infused with memorable melodic hooks.

Behind Choder’s engaging performances stands a winding history of musical exploration. From the age of 9, Choder took every kind of music lesson from cello to piano, from trombone to guitar. At 13, Choder joined his first rock band, the first of many original and cover bands, acapella groups, and more, that would provide creative outlet and performance opportunities wherever he lived, worked, or studied, which eventually would include Philadelphia, Boston, Boulder, and Moscow, Russia.

In 2001, Choder recorded and released his debut CD “OK, Now What?” and began performing extensively as a solo artist on the East Coast, and as far as Chicago, Boulder, Lincoln, NE, and Nashville. Along the way, he has been a featured guest on 88.5 WXPN, performed the National Anthem for thousands at a pro ball game, improvised novelty songs at the Folk Festival campgrounds, provided multi-instrumental accompaniment for fellow artists, and can occasionally be heard performing jazz standards at the piano.

In addition to his talent as a singer/songwriter, Choder is a Board-Certified Music Therapist, PA Licensed Professional Counselor, organizer, producer, and teacher. In 2003, Choder collaborated with JPFolks and Xtreme Folk Scene to create the daring Philly Song Shuffle. He created Philadelphia’s annual Winter Solstice Serenade, and from 2001-2005 was co-coordinator of the Philadelphia chapter of Just Plain Folks, where he organized numerous concerts to benefit local and international charities.

Choder is currently in studio working on his next full-length CD.
